Alliance Bite Size No. 4 July 2024

July 24: Welcome to the fourth Alliance Bite Size for 2024 - an update from the Dorset General Practice Alliance which aims to provide a brief overview to all our member practices on how the Alliance is working to support you.

CCLIP funding update

The ICB have confirmed there is residual funding available within the CCLIP of £150k and acknowledges that communication on this has not been clear about how primary care accesses this. The Alliance has a range of meetings in the coming weeks with the ICB to ensure that this funding reaches primary care, and that no additional activity or complexity is required in order to receive this funding.

Request for engagement – Diabetes Lead

The Alliance has been asked for a GP to represent the Diabetes Clinical Network at the ICB. Please send expressions of interest to the Alliance by 31st July.

Membership Events Our next membership event is on the 24th of July via teams and is open to all working in Dorset General Practice. July’s agenda includes updates on the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams development from the NAPC; updates on the Pregnancy Loss after 14 weeks Gestation Pathway; MSK triage referral process and colleagues from the Primary Care Training Hub will outline their support for recruitment for practices and PCNs.

Vote on the Future Legal Status of the Dorset General Practice Alliance – Open till 6th August Please make sure your practice has voted on the future legal status of the Alliance. Remember, one vote per practice and if you need any more info to help inform your decision please get in contact.

What’s next?

Our August Membership Event is on 21st August. This will include an update on the Alliance Staff Survey by Ian Gall and other updates from the Alliance and stakeholders. If you would like a specific topic covered at these events, please get in touch.

Improving vaccine uptake with pre-school children: the ICB with the Alliance will be asking practices/PCNs to submit proposals to access funding to support increasing their vaccine uptake. More info to follow soon on this. The NHSD Comms team is also looking for any existing TikTok, Instagram, Facebook stars - GPs or general practice clinicians and influencers who would like to promote uptake of vaccines. If you’re interested send a video! Only kidding, you don’t need to do that! Just get in contact and we’ll pass your details on. 😊

Please do get in touch with the Alliance if you need any further information by email dorsetgpalliance@dorsetgp.nhs.uk or visit the website Dorset GP Alliance
